Hawaii has a serious homeless problem. Hawaii has a serious ice epidemic. Hawaii has countless children who have fallen through the gap of the proverbial digital divide. As a way to help, HOSEF sought permission from the City and County of Honolulu to install computers and wifi in those parks closest to the problems. After a great deal of work, we were given permission to give this to the City as long as we supported it. Bringing broadband and educational opportunities to the most blighted communities is critical, and we are finding a way.
